Wednesday 5/7/14

The ice is starting to break up and move around. These photos are out in front of our resort in Susan Bay. Calling for thunderstorms tomorrow and warmer temps which will really help with the ice. Still hoping for an ice free Opener on Saturday!

Orr Bay almost ice free

These photos were taken on 5/5/14 of the bay in Orr. Almost completely ice free with the rest of the lake looking pretty black. Here is looking forward to an ice free opener on 5/10/14! Fingers crossed!

Ice free fishing opener!

Here it is Thursday May 1st and the ice in Orr Bay is black with lots of open water spots. With the opener 9 days away, I am predicting an ice free fishing opener for 2014.

Tuesday 4/29/14

It drizzled pretty steady today knocking down the snow piles but the temps need to start warming up so the drizzle doesn't turn into more snow. The Pelican river is now free of ice and we are starting to see open water in Orr bay. Ground still has plenty of frost, but here is to a ice free May 10th fishing opener. A guy can dream can't he!

Monday 4/28/14

Another overcast and windy day with temps only getting into the low 40's. Not making much progress on the lake ice this week by the looks of the forecast.

Sunday 4/27/14

Another cool overcast and windy day today. Not much progress on melting the remaining snowfall or ice today.

Overnight snowfall 4/25/14

After yesterday's photo of the lake the rain changed to snow. Last night we ended up with approx 4" of wet heavy snow. Posting this from my phone since we do not have power at the resort from a downed power line. Most of the snow will be gone by this afternoon with temps heading towards the mid to upper 40's today. Did I mention how good the lake water levels will be this year from all this snowfall. Always stay positive haha!
